Warhammer 40K: Land Raider Complete

Decided to call it a day with the land raider since I have no further ideas on enhancing this. It is my prototype anyway. My first large model/vehicle.

Most of the parts were drubrushed with Necron Compount do create a dusty look on the model. Hopefully, the next Land Raider I build (either Redeemer or Crusader) have a better job than this. Anyway, a sneak peek on what is coming in next.

Dark Angels Company Veterans. These guys will be populating around every company (at least 2 10 man squad) except for 9th Company Assault since robes are not exactly jet pack friendly.

Tau Commander Arra'Kon of the Farsight Eight. The legs from the finecast, for some reason, was quite tilted to the back. I decided to give him an action pose of dodging back an attack and moving to retaliate. And yes, I forgot to take a photo of the sprues for my sprue post, which kinda suck since this is from the Tau Commander finecast which is a web exclusive. In my defense, I was actually drooling when I unboxed it. Never expected to see this in the shop.

Misc: Sprue List

Finally got my page on the sprue list up and running. I will be posting up the breakdown of the sprue components for easy reference.

The first one up is the Dark Angel Company Veteran kit which I was initially excited about since it is essentially the Dark Angel Chapter Upgrade kit with some additional spare weapon bits. However, the kit was a little let down after reading the accompanying manual since the manual promises the ability to construct the apothecary too, which was not found anywhere in the kit. The same goes for the arms to wield the spare weapons which were non-existent. This is probably one of the few f-ups by Games-Workshop in their kit planning and as mentioned in the page, it was a rush job in my opinion. (quite similar to Microsoft's ME and Vista launch)

More kits will be posted in due time as I will probably be revisiting the older kits when I purchased them. I will be excluding special edition kits such as the Dark Vengeance starter kit as the minis are built on a 1 to 1 basis (little to zero customisation on the models).

Warhammer 40K: Dark Talon and AOBR Dreadnought. The work so far

Just a little post on what I have done so far on the Dark Talon and the Dreadnought from AOBR since I have had some progress on this in the last several months..

Dark Talon

Painted interior
The unit was primed and basecoated with a mix of 2 part Abbadon Black to 1 part Eshin Grey. The grey icons are basecoated with Eshin Grey while the Ravenwing symbols were painted painted white. The interiors were done prior to gluing all of them together.

The next step will definitely to drybrush the entire model with Dawnstone especially on the edges.

AOBR Dreadnought

Got this model from ebay as part of the AOBR marine's collection which I got along with a buddy of mine. I took the Dreadnought and he had the rest. I wanted this guy mainly for the multi melta to swap around with my existing Venerable Dreadnought, which only then I realised that they do not even fit. Looks like forgeworld for me then. Also, while I have no confirmation that Deathwings are only having Venerables, I decided to assign it to Deathwing anyway.  I had it done to this point 3 months plus ago. Only a few minor touch up need to be done especially on the purity seals and the banner.

This unit was previously primed blue for the Ultramarines previously. Since the layer was thin, I decided to just go ahead and basecoat Ushbati Bone over it and proceed from there. The work done on this units is probably better detailed if compared over to the Venerable Dreadnought. I may just revisit and improve it at a later date.
