Misc: Bandai T-65 Star Wars X-Wing Part 1

Thanks to the Bandai and the recent release of the Force Awakens, I picked up some models to add to my collection last Christmas. I had planned to get these models fully painted and with the recent arrival of my T-70 and Millennium Falcon, I decided to start some work on them.

I did most of the major assemblies some time ago while parts, such as the interior, were left unassembled for easy access while painting. The first to be painted is the T-65 X-Wing from the original trilogy. My personal favourite craft from the Rebel alliance.

X-Wing fully assembled and glued after cockpit and pilot is fully painted.

I thought the wings would look great with Ushabti Bone/Screaming Skull. I immediately disliked the scheme once it was fully painted. The entire part was painted over using Pallid Wynch flesh to bring the color back close to white. I will probably go with a greyish white for this model on the rest of the body. The red pieces were previously painted with a layer of Mephiston Red. I will probably basecoat it again with Khorne Red to have them a little more darker.

The pilot itself was a challenge due to its small size. The biggest problem was actually the decals as the decals provided to were of stiffer materials. Even soaking it in water was not able to seperate the decal from the paper. Hopefully the work done would have it stick well enough to last.

More reasons to paint the model instead.
